On Thursday 26 February 2026, at 4.30 p.m., the meeting room of the Ex Convento dei Teatini (Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, 16, Lecce) will host the public presentation of the Galleria delle Arti e della Musica (G.A.M.) project, promoted by the Municipality of Lecce in collaboration with the Euro-Mediterranean Cultural Heritage Agency, the "Tito Schipa" Conservatoire of Music, Lecce, and Confartigianato Lecce.
The initiative forms part of the application for funding under the Puglia Regional Programme 2021–2027, Sub-Action 8.7.1 – "Measures for the Enhancement of Cultural Heritage and Innovation in Non-State Public Cultural Venues", within the framework of the cultural regeneration policies promoted by the Apulia Region and co-financed by the European Union.
The G.A.M. project aims to establish a permanent cultural hub in Lecce dedicated to artistic and musical production, education, public engagement and collaboration between institutions, artists, students and the wider community, further strengthening the city's role as a Mediterranean centre for culture and a place where the arts, creativity and innovation converge.
The event will open with institutional addresses by Adriana Poli Bortone, Mayor of Lecce and President of the Euro-Mediterranean Cultural Heritage Agency; Luigi Puzzovio, President of the "Tito Schipa" Conservatory of Music - Lecce; and Salvatore Vadrucci, Deputy Secretary of Confartigianato Lecce.
The technical presentation of the project will follow, led by Sonia Cappello, Project Manager; Giovanni Puce, Project Designer and Director of Public Works for the Municipality of Lecce; architect Domenico Antonelli; and Teresa Magrini, Head of the PNRR and CIS Coordination Office, with a particular focus on the cultural and musical services envisaged within the project.
The meeting will conclude with an open discussion, providing an opportunity to share the project's next operational steps and to encourage the active participation of local residents and cultural stakeholders in shaping the future cultural venue.
