About the project
The accordion, a guardian of journeys and memories, has long been the voice of those who set out and the companion of those who travelled in search of new opportunities. For generations, it accompanied migrants on their journeys, becoming, in many respects, the orchestra of third-class passengers.
FISARMONICHE ONE NIGHT – La fisarmonica dal classico al jazz | Suoni dal Mediterraneo is conceived as a journey through the expressive world of the accordion. Blending classical repertoire with contemporary influences, the concert offers an elegant and engaging exploration of the universal sounds of the Mediterranean and beyond.
An instrument capable of transcending borders and bringing generations together, the accordion carries with it a remarkable heritage of sounds, emotions and cultural identities.
A musical journey
The project unfolds as a musical journey exploring the accordion's extraordinary versatility, balancing new interpretations of the classical repertoire with contemporary musical traditions.
The result is an elegant and immersive performance that takes audiences on a two-hour musical journey through the themes and traditions encountered by the accordion along the routes of migration. Throughout its history, the instrument has absorbed, transformed and reinterpreted diverse musical languages, becoming deeply interwoven with a wide range of musical identities and genres.
A celebration of cultures
The concert brings together the rich musical traditions of the Mediterranean in a celebration of music, friendship and cultural exchange, where borders exist only on maps.
It is also an opportunity to celebrate the renowned hospitality of Southern Italy, a historic crossroads of encounters and cultural exchange, open to the peoples of the Mediterranean and the wider world.
