The Euro-Mediterranean Cultural Heritage Agency continues to strengthen its role as an institutional coordinator and scientific partner within the international cultural landscape by supporting the fifth edition of the García Lorca Memorial Award.
Organised by the Compagnia Mura di Flamenco Andaluso with the Agency's strategic support, the event will take place on Tuesday 19 August at the Chiostro degli Agostiniani in Lecce, commemorating the anniversary of the death of the celebrated poet Federico García Lorca.
Through its coordination activities and support for international participation, the Agency has facilitated the involvement of a distinguished group of institutional and academic partners, bringing together the Embassy of Spain, the Instituto Cervantes, RAI, and the leading universities of the Apulia Region within a single cultural initiative.
The Agency's involvement extends well beyond institutional patronage, ensuring the academic quality and international profile of the multidisciplinary programme entitled "L'Amicizia secondo García Lorca e Tito Schipa iberico".
The Agency has supported the participation of nationally renowned cultural figures, including music critic Dario Salvatori, alongside distinguished scholars such as Gabriele Morelli and Antonio Lucio Giannone, transforming the event into a platform for dialogue between literature, musicology and cultural research.
The Agency also supports the Compagnia Mura di Flamenco Andaluso in its work exploring the historical and cultural connections between flamenco and the identity of the Salento, promoting traditional and folk music as a vehicle for cultural exchange, social cohesion and shared heritage.
During the evening, Lifetime Achievement Awards will be presented to Dario Salvatori and Pietra Montecorvino, followed by live choreographic performances curated by the Company's Artistic Director, Max Mura.
